Fractured Fury

It is with a sad heart that I must reveal the next set of photos, taken over the weekend.

After some more off roading fun, the whole car began to shimmy and groan at full turn 

:( uh oh :(

Further investigation unveiled a rather large problem:

It turns out that the front frame is broken completely in 1/2 as seen  in this photo (top of the radiator is at the top of photo)

From underneath :(  this does NOT look good...

Luckily it is a tubular section, so I may be able to find a steel rod that fits snugly, and tack it in there with good results.... also, when I have time, I'm vowing to put the car up on a lift and inspect the other sections of framework more thoroughly 

But... at least there's a good side of the story for the week:

15 bucks later, i've got 55 watt H3 REVERSE LIGHTS! 

These work great with the spray paint window tints that i will be explaining further tomorrow!

The fury blazes brighter!

So... I came to the realization last night that the fury just wasn't burning bright enough.  she needs to shine like the star that she is....  ENTER A QUICK TRIP TO WAL-MART!

Here's a set of driving lights sold at WalMart for the bargain price of 20$

I selected an area to mount them, namely the front end of the car. I spaced them evenly, and   some drilling (with a normal philips head screwdriver) later, they were installed.

As you can see, they're HID replicas (not bad looking for 20$)

The Fury with brights on... not too shabby, but nothing compared to:

All the mounting hardware, wiring, and the switch were included, and it was a simple install for 20$.  the grounds were set up with the wrong type of connector, but i just snapped the connector off and drilled some new grounds with the included screws for a free win.

A weekend of Fury.

Another Week, Another Adventure, and Another Modification to the Fury!

I took a trip out to a reputable jeep trail in the boondocks with a close friend and the fury.

We had tons of fun in the mud, and got the interior so dirty i decided to redo it; FURY STYLE!

So... Here's my buddy O 'hanging out' after conquering a mountainous foothill.

And Here's a wonderful little trail i found in the middle of nowhere.
And the same trail after we mastered it.
Unfortunately a tree didn't like my drivers side mirror too much, so i got out the universal fury repair kit (duct tape and Krylon flat black...)  worked like a charm!
Here's my new mod for the week.  if you like having plush floor mats in the car, but are frustrated with the meager selection of rubber floor mats selling for 25$, might I suggest buying an 8$ bathroom mat from Walmart, and cutting it in half?   works like a charm.

Meet The Fury.

This is the newest addition to my collection of rare and fine automobilia.  

so... as you can see. she's pretty awesome.

she's a 1994 geo tracker.

suzuki motor, chevy badging and geo badging together, in wonderful harmony.

i'm not going to tell you what i paid for her. but suffice it to say it was somewhere around 1/3 of the cost of my cellphone.

14x,xxx miles, and going strong.

motor sounds great. she tracks straight, and does 0-60 in a stopwatch / speedometer confirmed 12.5 seconds.

unfortunately, i didn't get before pics, but the wheels started as a nice rusty silver color.  

of course, i wasn't really a fan of the rust and dull color, so i went out to home depot, and bought about 20$ worth of supplies, to do this:

that's right... she's rolling on Krylon gold rims.  all five of them.  as you can see, taping off the bolts really helped. unfortunately... i forgot to do this on the rear wheels. :(  oh well!

also, please, don't worry, this three lugged wheel is on the back of the trunk. jeep status.

the painting was relatively easy... sanded her down with 120 grit sandpaper, and applied two light coats of the krylon...  took about 30 minutes per wheel, didn't even have to take them off the car... (covered the brakes with some paper, etc.)

anyways, so, you might ask... what is the point of this blog?

obviously to showcase this beautiful vehicle in all of it's glory.  she's gonna be a keeper, i can feel it.

i think i might go all out and suede up the interior.

first things first though:

i'm going to be cleaning the interior of all of the previous owner's garbage. (which was all, i might add, thrown in free of charge)
